A
Photo That Clicks
Now that you’ve
made the decision to seek love on the Internet, why not present yourself
in the best possible light (pun specifically intended)? Romance Language
strongly recommends a professional photo that looks like you – but
you on your best day.
Too many people scan
existing, marginal photos into their profiles. It’s quick, it’s
easy and it’s done. But dozens of people compete
with you in every search – you need a photo that demands a second
look. If your Aunt Tillie took a traffic stopping photo of you at a family
gathering, lucky you – we won’t argue that relaxed happy faces
can appear anywhere. But what if that nice, relaxed, happy face is now
ten years older? What if that head is now follically challenged, or those
cheeks are now pleasantly plumper?
Your dates will expect a reasonable
facsimile of your photo. After all, won’t you? If you responded
to a photo of a slender 40-year-old, you’ll get quite a shock when
a sturdy 55-year-old shows up. By the way, there’s absolutely nothing
wrong with a sturdy 55-year-old -- lots of people prefer them, so why
not attract those people in the first place? By the same token, if you’re
happiest in jeans and a T – and looking for a like-minded soul --
that wedding party photo (the one and only time you wore eyelashes and
an updo) probably won’t serve. Believe us – it is very, very
hard to recover from a big-time visual disappointment, no matter how sparkling
the conversation. Don’t set yourself up to be the disappointer.
A professional photographic
portrait ensures an accurate, flattering image – a focused, intelligent
reflection of what you look like right now. It says you’re serious
about this dating thing and doing it right.
Are you at your best in the
morning, after work, on the weekend? Choose that time for your photo shoot.
If you’re insecure at all about doing your own hair or about appropriate
makeup, consider our professional makeup artist/hair stylist. Even if
you’re a no-makeup type, an artfully applied minimum will only enhance
your natural look. It takes an extra 30 minutes and adds only $75 to the
$175.00 photo fee. Clients are routinely delighted with the results, and
feel much more relaxed in front of the camera, knowing they look their
very best.
We’ll photograph you
against a solid color background, which automatically attracts searchers’
eyes to you as they scan those endless rows of photos. You’ll sit
in front of a large lightbox and take various seated positions as we search
for your best angle. You’ll be able to view yourself on the digital
camera. Don’t hesitate to say so if you prefer a certain look or
expression. But know that we’ll concentrate particularly on getting
a full front, open, smiling shot – people are naturally drawn to
a great, happy smile.
A few days after the shoot,
we’ll send a link to a web gallery, so you can view your pictures
online. You’ll be able to share the link, and get your friends’
opinions if you like. Pick the three you like best; we’ll lightly
retouch them and send to you for approval. Finally, we’ll post the
top choice on one or more e-dating websites for you.
Take full advantage of your
shoot, and your photo will show your prospects the most appealing visual
you. Pair that photo with an upbeat, compelling, witty written profile,
and you’ll be at least two giant steps ahead of the crowd.
